Notes from our discussions:
Town/Municipal/Schools
-Solar on town buildings / lands (with 80% funding from NYSERDA
grant?)
-Solar for lighting (traffic lights, street lights, town signs,
parking lights)
-Townwide version of village “DPW truck”
-Solar on schools
-Town Strategy for Energy Planning (Direction and Framework)
-Planning Board, Conservation board involvement
Residential / Individuals:
-Solar Panels – for home owners (50-60% funding from NYSERDA grant)
-notes: silent, space is easy, low complaints, cost is
an issue, the sell back rate (wholesale) is very low
-Trails and bike lanes
-Education and awareness for conservation, Tompkins Community Action
(TCA), Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE)
-Passive heating and solar hot water workshops
-CarShare to Dryden
-Community Involvement
-Renewable Energy Mentor Program
-Leaf Raking fund raising service
-Student group at Dryden schools
-TC3 involvement
